Proposed Design Welcome to the Exeter Mosque & Cultural Centre
Design and planning
In order to minimise disruption to essential services that the Mosque carries out, only two of the three halls will be demolished, retaining the third. The construction of the mosque and community centre will begin on the site where the other two stood. In considering the nature of the site, it’s levels and height restrictions; a three-floor building has been designed to blend harmoniously with the adjacent structures and environment. The Architects have designed a mosque with two prayer halls, one for ladies and one for men. The building will include a Madrasah (school), a library, a lecture hall, wudu (ablution) areas and community welfare facilities. The final design has been prepared following a great deal of research and consultation seeking to fuse Islamic architectural ideals with the local environment and legal requirements. The building and the development can only serve to enhance the locality by providing enhanced amenities available to the local community and a testimony to the thriving multi-diversity of Exeter.

The mosque and community centre will not only serve the Muslim community, but also will, Insha’allah be the focal point in the South West of England for Da’wah and calling others to Islam and conveying to them its pure message. The educational facilities will provide our youth and our children with a solid understanding of the holy Koran and Sunnah of our blessed Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and the fundamentals of Islam. The Muslim community in Exeter consists of more than 30 nationalities; and by donating to this cause you will be providing essential facilities for our Muslim Ummah resident in the locality and for those who are transitory. The Muslim community in Exeter is appealing for donations large or small, interest free loans or to anyone who may be able to assist in any way possible. Please help with this worthy cause. we pray that Almighty Allah will guide us all, and that he will make the road to success an easy one, A’meen.
